INJURY UPDATE

  • Defender Bracey Rogers took an elbow to the ribs late in the BHC game July 25 at Magnuson that forced his early exit from the game.
  • Midfielder Casey Antoncich sustained a lower back tweak in the early moments of the game with The Green Machine on June 20 at Grasslawn 2. His legs went one way, the shoulders the other, and his brain didn't relay the message. “It’s a quality injury,” Antoncich said. “I’ll be out for a couple games. Just have to take it easy.” Antoncich returned for the July 25 game and scored the first of the game six minutes in with a beautiful 30-yarder.
  • Defender Scott Strasser took a late cleat to the top/instep of the right foot during the March 7 Vipers FC game at Twin Ponds that left him feeling 75 percent with pain there a week later. Two months later, Strasser is still in pain and says he's reminded of it "every time I kick." Strasser took a good knock late in the loss to Finn Hill United on May 2 that caused him before and after the incident to indicate taking the summer off is on the top of his mind. But Strasser got in action on June 27 vs. Interfeierabend. “Oh, God—I am out of it and old,” Strasser said. “I’ll probably be a little sore tomorrow, but the foot seems to be holding up alright. Definitely need to get on the bike since treadmill is KO’d.”
  • Midfielder Kelly Antoncich received a six-inch roadburn after tumbling out of bounds with an opponent in the 2-4 China loss on April 25 at Marymoor 2.
  • Defender Leo Berk has been dealing with a nagging back injury as of late, but you wouldn't know if from skills shown in the George Washington Tournament March 27-28. He felt pain in early May - through June enough to force him to miss 8.5 games until getting in work on June 27 vs. Interfeierabend. “The knee feels good,” Berk said afterward. “I tweaked it just a little today, but it was good throughout game. My lungs are at about 20 though, and the back needs stretching. The frame’s still there. I had a great time playing.”
  • Midfielder Matt Galvin tended to a knee aggravation before making a fantastic return for the May 9 game vs. Fuego FC.
